摘要: Abstract Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the effects creatine supplementation on early stages ethanol-induced hepatic damage. Methods Male Swiss mice were divided into three groups (n = 12/group): control (C), ethanol (E), and supplemented with (EC). group received a diet containing 15.8% total calories from proteins, 46.3% carbohydrates, 37.9% lipids. diets 16.2% 34.5% lipids; remaining obtained addition 5% 95% ethanol. Creatine (1%; weight/vol) added EC mice. After 14 28 d, six animals each sacrificed, generating subdivisions in group: C14 C28, E14 E28, EC14 EC28. sacrifice, liver removed, weighed, prepared for histologic, biochemical, molecular analysis, blood collected. Results Ethanol intake induced mild cell degeneration, damage, oxidative lesions, inflammation. Surprisingly, combined exacerbated degeneration fat accumulation, expression genes related metabolism, stress inflammation, promoted elevated plasma alanine aminotransferase (P Conclusion associated is able interfere alcohol metabolism exacerbate These new findings are opposite those observed several studies where protective wide variety injury models, including non-alcoholic fatty disease, described.
