摘要: Abstract This paper deals with an experimental study on the dynamic plastic post-buckling behaviour of a stationary AMΓ aluminium alloy cylindrical shell under axial impact. According to current theory, it is believed that within certain velocity range, will buckle in uniform axisymmetrical sinusoidal mode. However, we found when impact less than critical value V c1 , exhibit only deformation both and radial directions does not produce waves. On other hand, exceeds another c2 change from axisymmetric mode into nonuniform type large deformation, number waves decreases slightly begins lose its load-carrying capacity. Experimental results cylinders three different thicknesses are presented discussed. An approximate theoretical formula for estimating based strain rate reversal also given.
