摘要: The pressure dam bearing is a type of fluid film in widespread use for enhancing rotor stability. Analytical refinements have been made to existing theory predicting its performance characteristics and optimizing designs. This paper describes experiments conducted evaluating the theory. Four designs were tested, with basic comparison being static generated at dam. Measured differences from refined theoretical predictions generally less than 16% are attributed manufacturing errors which caused deviations model.
