Thumbnail manipulation using fast and aspect ratio zooming, compressing and scaling

摘要: Disclosed are method and apparatus for the manipulation of thumbnail images as used in image-based browsing file management systems. arrangements whereby zooming out can be performed without a continued need to decompress true image thus providing faster operation. Pixel interpolation and/or replication generate intermediate that display deliver user perception transitory zoom yet sufficient detail maintain orientation. Aspect ratio containment areas is also disclosed which facilitates ease browsing. The compression type using discrete wavelet transform fast thumbnails their associated areas.
