摘要: A series of twelve Cr-Mo white irons varying in carbide volume from 7 to 45 pct were tested for dynamic fracture toughness and wet sand abrasion resistance. Carbon content was varied 1.4 3.9 pct. Two matrix microstructures employed, the compositions (copper chromium content) assure constant compositions. Chromium 11.6 25.7 In addition, one composition iron subjected thirty different heat treatments define effect microstructure on It shown that abrasive wear system used, a about 30 represented an optimum quantity, above which resistance decreased. Martensitic provided consistently better than austenitic irons. Dynamic decreased with volume, as expected. Higher values obtained predominantly martensitic microstructures. Considering both toughness, it treated could provide optimal combination these properties.
