A study was designed shorten PAF test validity reliability shortened instrument. Twenty items that were most frequently reported change during week prior menses selected from 95-item form. 20-item administered at baseline 6- 12-month follow-up clinic visits. factor analysis identified three subscales: affect, water retention pain. Our results showed shortened, 10-item version had high internal consistency reliability. comparison symptoms scale nicotine withdrawal indicated while two correlated, intercorrelation between subscales total over higher. Thus, appears measure somewhat distinct relatively stable set symptoms. is instrument can used assess PMS when design or need precludes use PAF.
