摘要: Immunohistochemical analysis of 21 prototypic mucosal spindle-cell carcinomas the aerodigestive tract was performed at Armed Forces Institute Pathology (AFIP) to establish usefulness selected immunohistochemical markers in distinguishing carcinoma from other neoplasms. Immunoreactive keratin could be demonstrated only 13/21 (62%) cases. Coexpression and vimentin 10/17 (59%) tumors evaluated for both these intermediate filaments. All lacked S100 protein, which is an immunoreactivity we would expect find malignant melanoma, one principal considerations a differential diagnosis. Both alpha-1-antitrypsin (AAT) alpha-1-antichymotrypsin (ACT) were tumor cells all However, albumin had similar distribution tumors, suggested that passive uptake serious confusing factor. The results this study indicate AAT ACT are unreliable fibrous histiocytomas.
