摘要: Abstract The research presented in this paper investigates the mechanical properties under compressive loads of a natural stone masonry. Selected materials and arrangement are typical from Romanesque period, main architectural style Europe 9th to 13th centuries, found both heritage conventional buildings. characterisation basic different masonry prisms included. Sandstone low strength lime–cement mortar were used for experimental work because their availability similarity with many historic buildings North Spain. morphological characteristics original ancient walls also taken into account, order manufacture prism specimens that as representative possible Spanish typology (i.e. terms its geometry, composition internal core, relative size, etc.). values compared analytical ones provided by other author’s equations, codes standards. differences on obtained results analysed more suitable formulae identified. permit better understanding these reliable source data validation existing structures.
