摘要: [1] Lakes within fluvial networks may affect dissolved organic matter (DOM) dynamics in streams by dampening spring DOM snowmelt flushing responses and/or increasing summer production. We assessed the temporal variability of carbon (DOC) concentration and characteristics (specific ultraviolet absorbance (SUVA254); DOC:dissolved nitrogen (DOC:DON)), as well DOC export seven paired lake inflows outflows Sawtooth Mountain district, Idaho. hypothesized that lakes would decrease stream increase a result autotrophic correlated with landscape factors to evaluate potential drivers patterns (measured coefficient variation). Coefficients variation were 40–90% higher than for concentrations, characteristics, DOC:DON. Increases concentrations on ascending limb hydrograph greater outflows, average mean flux occurred 5.4 days earlier outflows. During base flow, outflow 1.7 times inflows, six had annual inflows. Combined, these results illustrate alter magnitude, timing exported from subalpine watersheds. This buffering effect seasonal shift balance between hydrological versus biological controls dynamics, where act sink during when hydrologic dominate watershed transport source summer.
