摘要: The effects of different types dietary lipids were tested in burned guinea pigs. All diets identical except for the type lipid, with total energy intake from equaling 10%. animals received a 30% body surface area (TBSA) flame burn and fed identically by pump-controlled gastrostomy feedings 14 days. When compared to safflower oil (74% linoleic acid) as well acid alone, fish (18% eicosapentaenoic or EPA) administration resulted less weight loss, better skeletal muscle mass, lower resting metabolic expenditure, cell mediated immune responses, opsonic indices, higher splenic weight, adrenal serum transferrin, C3 levels. With exception responses acid, indomethacin made little difference. These findings can be explained reduction synthesis dienoic prostaglandins that are derived omega 6 series fatty acids, some which significantly immunosuppressive. Regulation may an important therapeutic advance nutritional support after injury, controlled trials should considered.
