摘要: Objective: To estimate the occurrence of residual neuropathy and its self-reported health consequences in a population-based group patients with Guillain–Barre syndrome (GBS) to characterize quantitatively concomitant motor, sensory, autonomic impairments. Methods: Forty (mean age 46 years) confirmed diagnosis GBS were studied mean 7 years (range 1 13 after acute attack together 40 healthy control subjects. The Dyck minimal criteria neuropathy, Neuropathy Symptom Score, Disability Short Form-36 (SF-36) generic questionnaire, isokinetic dynamometry at ankle wrist, quantitative sensory testing thresholds for vibration, cold, pain, function tests, nerve conduction studies, summed Rank Sum Score (NRSS) applied. Results: Nineteen (48%) had which was independent follow-up time. reported lower status than subjects on SF-36 Physical Component Summary Scale (PCS; p = 0.01), PCS scores correlated NRSS ( r −0.41, 0.009). In GBS, muscle strength dorsal flexion reduced by 13.9% 0.001), vibration increased foot Conclusions: Residual affecting large- medium-sized myelinated fibers endures long approximately half all patients, leads motor dysfunction, shows trend toward impairing physical status.
