摘要: Abstract The purpose of this literature review is to describe and discuss instrumental assessment techniques the velopharyngeal function in order diagnose disorders resonance characteristics. Both direct indirect are addressed, which successively nasopharyngoscopy, videofluoroscopy, magnetic imaging (MRI), cephalometric radiographic analysis, computed tomography (CT), ultrasound, acoustic aerodynamic measurements considered. Despite multiple assessments available detect define dysfunction, ideal technique not yet accessible. Therefore, a combination different quantitative parameters can possibly form solution for more reliable determination disorders. These multi-dimensional approaches will be described discussed. measurement perceptual evaluation nasality probably remain necessary provide sufficient information make appropriate decisions concerning diagnosis treatment Learning outcomes : reader able currently assess mechanism its functioning Additionally, he explain possible advantages several types complementary techniques.
