摘要: Habitat fragmentation may affect the reproductive success of plant populations in many different ways. Thus, negative, neutral, or positive responses can be observed, according to balance interactions. Variables related mutualistic and antagonistic interactions (pollinator activity gall occurrence, respectively) were measured on Byrsonima sericea a fragmented seashore area (restinga) southeastern Brazil. Pollinator visits oil-bearing flowers, insect occurrence stems inflorescences, fruit set B. compared between three small (up 0.3ha) large (14.0‐99.0ha) fragments. MANOVA showed differences fragment classes. Nevertheless, posteriori univariate ANOVA that pollinator visit frequency was more than twofold higher fragments, did not show significant These results suggest habitat does female studied restinga areas because resource availability seems important factor for pollen limitation due pollination failure. This is first work assessing effects fragmentatio ni nrestinga areas, which are intensely impacted by urbanization, so no generalization about consequences still made this ecosystem.
