摘要: Cigarette smoke condensate (CSC) is the particulate matter of cigarette smoke. Porphyromonas gingivalis (P. gingivalis) an opportunistic pathogen involved in periodontitis. It was hypothesized that combination CSC and P. would increase collagen-degrading ability human gingival fibroblasts (HGFs). In this study, HGFs were exposed to CSC, supernatant, plus supernatant. The protein/mRNA levels matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) tissue inhibitors (TIMPs) examined. combined treatment increased collagen degradation, protein active forms MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3, MMP-14 conditioned media, low-molecular-weight fragment membrane extracts, as well mRNA MMP-14. conclusion, effects HGF-mediated degradation by destroying balance between MMPs TIMPs at multiple levels.
