摘要: Many laboratories have focused efforts on the creation of transgenic mouse models to study adult neurogenesis. In last decade several constitutive reporter, as well inducible lines been published that allowed for visualization, tracking and alteration specific neurogenic cell populations in brain. Given popularity this approach, multiple are available, review summarizes differences basic techniques used create these mice, highlighting different constructs reporter proteins used, strengths limitations each models. Representative examples from literature demonstrate some diverse seminal findings come fruition through laborious, yet highly rewarding work creating neurogenesis research.
