The impact of care‐giving on care‐givers: Factors associated with the psychological well‐being of people supporting a dementing relative in the community

摘要: The aim of this paper is to present findings concerning a variety factors expected influence, either directly or indirectly as mediators, the psychological well-being persons caring for dementing relative in community. sample included both co-resident and non-resident supporters data were collected via semi-structured interview. Only sex dependant, supporter, satisfaction with help from relatives, blood/role relationship, duration care, frequency visits home community nurse significantly correlated supporters' morale mental health. directions these correlations were, however, not always expected, e.g. longer care-giving higher better It was interesting find that level impairment family friends associated health supporters.
