摘要: Abstract Polychlorinated benzenes were dechlorinated with NaBH 4 , using PdCl 2 (dppf) (dppf=1,1′-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene) as the catalyst. A variety of solvents, namely THF, CH 3 CN, DMSO, diglyme, DMF and DMA (dimethylacetamide) examined. supporting base, TMEDA ( N -tetramethyl-1,2-ethylenediamine) was used in some cases. Catalytic activity strongly solvent-dependent showing best performance. Addition improved yields all cases, except for DMSO. In DMA, when used, catalyst showed appreciable even after weeks reaction. Both solvent presence/absence a base had strong influence on selectivity For example, dechlorination pentachlorobenzene led to 90% 1,2,3,4-tetrachlorobenzene DMA/TMEDA, but 80% 1,2,4,5-tetrachlorobenzene DMSO/TMEDA.
