摘要: The Trial of Antihypertensive Interventions and Management is a multicenter randomized trial designed to examine the diastolic blood pressure response various combinations pharmacological dietary interventions in treatment mild hypertension (diastolic 90-100 mm Hg). Eight hundred seventy-eight participants at 110-160% ideal weight were randomly allocated nine drug/diet groups receiving either placebo, chlorthalidone (25 mg), or atenolol (50 combined with usual, loss, low sodium/high potassium diet. primary outcome was change from baseline 6 months. Seven eighty-seven had follow-up data. mean 93.8 Hg; 55.9% male, loss diet group lost an average 4.7 kg. Multiple comparisons accounted for analysis. A significantly greater lowering (12.4 Hg) achieved compared (7.9 Hg, p = 0.001) (8.8 0.006). Adding enhanced (15.1 when diuretic alone (10.8 0.002), but adding (12.2 0.029) did not. In short-term where sole consideration, drugs outperform diet, beneficial, especially diuretics.
