摘要: Purpose: Icariin, a flavonoid isolated from the traditional Chinese herbal medicine Epimedium brevicornum Maxim, has been shown to process anti-inflammatory, antioxidative actions and anti-atherosclerosis activity in vivo vitro. The purpose of this study was investigate effects mechanisms icariin on atherosclerosis by human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). Methods: HUVECs induced oxidized low-density lipoprotein (ox-LDL) were detected MTT assay. Then we studied adhesion monocyte with ox-LDL. secretion E-selectin, intercellular molecule (ICAM-1) vascular cell (VCAM-1) measured enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method. Finally mRNA levels ICAM-1, VCAM-1, E-selectin analyzed real time RT-PCR. Results: result indicated that (10, 20, 40 μmol/L) could inhibit injury ox-LDL concentration-dependent manner (P < 0.05). inhibited groups significantly decreased compared ox-LDL-simulated group expressions also downregulated Conclusions: Icariin can prevent atherosclerotic lesion. Its mechanism may be it defend against oxidation damage HUVECs, reduce expression molecules including E-selectin.
