摘要: In the soft X-rays energy region, near edge X-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) spectra are generally recorded by monitoring yield signals of secondary particles. These particles, electrons or fluorescence photons, follow from decay core hole excited in primary process. general are, to a good approximation, proportional coefficient. However, several applications it would be desirable measure coefficient quantitatively. To derive quantitatively spectrum, one needs know escape depth emitted ({lambda}{sub e}) applied technique material interest. Since this quantity is difficult calculate, unknown for most materials. paper we present first results our systematic investigation total electron-yield (TEY) 3d transition metals (Fe, Co and Cu). addition gave important information on variation TEY with filling band.
