摘要: Abstract An analytic and preparative cell separation technique, equilibrium density gradient centrifugation, has been applied to the heterogeneous population of developing chick wing mesoblast in an effort isolate separately characterize populations differing buoyant density. When dissociated suspensions are distributed throughout a continuous bovine plasma albumin-balanced salt solution centrifuged equilibrium, reproducible patterns characteristic tissue source or developmental stage origin obtained. Such differ both qualitatively quantitatively. More than 90% cells remain viable as judged by dye exclusion, nearly recovered from gradients. Cellular subpopulations prepared on these gradients can be cloned yielding cartilage, muscle, fibroblastic colonies. At 25 there appears with mean 1.0437 g-cm −3 which exhibits markedly enhanced ability form cartilage-making clones when compared age.
