Lexical Semantics: The Problem of Polysemy

摘要: Lexical ambiguity is one of the most intractable problems facing language processing studies and, not surprisingly, it at core research in lexical semantics. The papers this collection constitute just a set diverse yet related articles area research, but rather make up unique work on relationship between logical polysemy, sense extension, and discourse structure. Each paper addresses following questions: what representation item such that may assume different senses? What about gives rise to extensions phenomenon polysemy? Three major subthemes run through papers: role pragmatics disambiguation; analysis polysemy as compositional process; treament extension referential transfer phenomena.
