摘要: We present an improved analytical model describing transmittance of a metal-dielectric-metal (MDM) waveguide coupled to arbitrary number stubs. The is built on the well-known analogy between MDM waveguides and microwave transmission lines. This allows one establish equivalent networks for different MDM-waveguide geometries calculate their optical spectra using standard tools transmission-line theory. A substantial advantage our compared earlier works that it precisely incorporates dissipation surface plasmon polaritons resulting from ohmic losses inside any metal at frequencies. derive expressions single double stubs as well N identical with periodic arrangement. show certain phase-matching conditions must be satisfied provide optimal filtering characteristics such waveguides. To check accuracy model, its results are numerical data obtained full-blown finite-difference time-domain simulations. Close agreement two suggests suitable rapid design optimization MDM-waveguide-based compact photonic devices.
