摘要: Abstract The decline in available fossil fuel resources coupled with an ever increasing global demand for energy, have led to substantial interest the development of renewable biofuels. Biofuels from microalgae, especially liquid fuels produced saline microalgae lipids (oils), are seen as important component future biofuels mix. In Australia, several companies and research groups working on developing microalgal whilst most still stage, recently constructed demonstration facilities highlight potential large-scale cultivation. Western Australia (WA) specifically, has key advantages biofuel cultivation including abundant sunshine, extensive land area unsuitable agriculture, water source Indian Ocean, existing infrastructure locations, high local stable political conditions. purpose this study was identify capable geographic locations constructing WA. Through Australian Algal Cultivation–Spatial Location Model (AAC–SLM) examination site specific parameters such irradiance, temperature, CO2 nutrient availability, workability soils, land-use access distribution a viable workforce, were identified state. Results indicate that large tracts along central coast ideal could produce up 11% Australia’s annual automotive diesel needs across suitable locations. end result provides robust method can be tailored requirements data availability other regions within nations tool attract through identification
