Nitrous oxide anaesthesia and vomiting. The effect of nitrous oxide anaesthesia on the incidence of vomiting following gynaecological laparoscopy.

摘要: Eighty-seven patients undergoing routine laparoscopy were divided randomly into two groups to study the effect of nitrous oxide anaesthesia on incidence postoperative vomiting. Patients in group A received as part their anaesthetic, while B was omitted. Significantly fewer vomited when compared with (17 percent and 49 respectively; p less than 0.005). We suggest that an anaesthetic technique which avoids may be especially indicated laparoscopy.
