摘要: All living organisms require several different transition metal ions to develop, grow, and function as designed. Since many of these ions, like copper, zinc iron are so reactive that the biochemical reactions dependent on essential elements typically involve formation specific protein-metal ion complexes or chelates. Indeed, absorption, transport, cellular accumulation, steady-state molecular distribution within between intracellular compartments would appear be determined, in part, by a series directional transfer events macromolecules.
