Understanding the burden of disease in Nepal: a call for local evidence.

摘要: The burden of disease, most commonly expressed in terms Disability-Adjusted Life Years, has become a crucial component decision making processes within the health sector. In Nepal, however, disease estimates are scarce and lack representativeness. To improve our understanding Nepal thereby increase efficiency policies, there is an urgent need to strengthen local evidence base. All relevant stakeholders should therefore collaborate generate new data, existing data generation mechanisms, make generated available, optimize use available data.
