摘要: The study of fitness costs associated with resistance to toxins from Bacillus thuringiensis Berliner (Bt) is important for understanding evolution and evaluating management practices that prevent or mitigate resistance. A strain European corn borer, Ostrinia nubilalis (Hubner) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) obtained field collections throughout the U.S. Corn Belt in 1996, was selected laboratory Cry1F by exposure toxin incorporated into artificial diet. developed more than 3000-fold after 35 generations selection readily consumed expressing maize tissue. Using this resistant strain, a susceptible similar genetic background reciprocal crosses between them, we estimated their dominance measuring components population parameters determined fertility life tables. Comparison life-history traits growth rates genotypes homozygous heterozygous relative indicated existence weak recessive significance these results relation current discussed.
