摘要: New determinations of the infrared absorption and reflection curves magnesium oxide show that these do not differ in form from those other NaCl-type crystals. Detailed comparison MgO with LiF, NaF, NaCl, KCl, for which accurate data are available, reveals a correlation between amount coupling vibrational modes homopolar bonding ionic overlapping. It is suggested primarily associated change polarizability ions during vibration rather than anharmonic vibrations as proposed by existing theories.
