摘要: Abstract Transverse flow through aligned yarns with two length scales is theoretically studied. Darcy’s law and Stokes equation are employed to describe behaviors inside the porous in open channels between yarns, respectively. Beavers Joseph’s semi-empirical model Brinkman’s extension of used characterize jump-velocity continuum-stress boundary condition at interface layer clear fluid yarn. The analytical for predicting permeability developed as a function porosity, fiber radius, cross-sectional shape, packing pattern, which would help improve physical understandings dual-scale flows fibrous media. Additionally, simple but effective semi-analytical provided easy use. Permeability predictions calculated from our agree fairly well experimental numerical results literature.
