摘要: Psychiatric emergency services have become an increasingly important element in the mental health system. Many approaches to delivering these been described but no unifying constructs emerged. This article reviews range of psychiatric settings including their structure and functions, evidence benefits system, controversies surrounding use. Categorization by capability is proposed as a means improving quality consistency assessment treatment. Regional consolidation accomplishing improvements while containing costs.
