摘要: This paper investigates the effects of international trade policy on wages in U.S. manufacturing industries 1983. The data set combines micro labor market with comprehensive tariffs and nontariff barriers such as quotas antidumping duties. authors find that workers unprotected, export-oriented had higher than similar observable characteristics protected, import-competing industries; more specifically, exports a positive wage effect imports smaller negative effect. Other findings are no significant wages, appear to have large effect, even after control for protection received by low-wage industries.
