Child labour and schooling in developing countries: a review of the literature

摘要: This paper shows that there is a trade-off between child labour and schooling. The costs (both direct indirect cost) benefits from education are considered by parents in making schooling decisions. Evidence seems to support the view although some work can help children acquire human capital (in form of on-the-job training, money earned makes school possible for themselves), general, lowers acquisition capital. Moreover, adverse effect on outcomes likely be increased if spends more time activities outside home. Easy improved access credit market significantly increase attendance reduce labour. Income transfer programmes, targeting households living below poverty line, stimulate demand reducing cost education. introduction compulsory given period retributive taxation adults elderly people following could an effective strategy eradicate Therefore, it has been found supply not enough ensure enrolment; side should also targeted.
