Two Distinct Cylinder Arrangements in Monodomains of a Lyotropic Liquid Crystalline Hexagonal II Phase: Monodomains with Straight Cylinders and Ringed Cylinders in Capillaries

摘要: We report a method to produce two different monodomains of an inverse hexagonal II (HII) phase in capillaries. Capillaries filled with glyceryl monooleyl ether (GME) inverted micellar were soaked water. After week, monodomain the HII straight cylinders was observed capillary diameter 1.0 mm. The axis almost parallel axis, and slightly undulated. lattice constant 5.85 nm, which indicated fully hydrated. Another ringed 0.2 mm capillary. aligned round wall, where one ⟨10⟩ directions always faced wall. 4.89 from estimated water content lowest reported for phase. is stabilized by wall low water...
