摘要: Prognostic estimations of the expected number killed or injured people and about approximate cost associated with damages caused by earthquakes are made following a suitable methodology wide-ranging application. For preliminary assessment human life losses due to occurrence relatively strong earthquake we use quantitative model consisting correlation between casualties magnitude as function population density. The macroseismic intensity field is determined in accordance an updated anelastic attenuation law, within areas different computed using application developed geographic information system (GIS) environment, taking advantage possibilities such for treatment space-distributed data. casualty rate, defined divided inhabitants affected region, also show its variation some urban concentrations rough evaluation direct economic derived from damages, equally through GIS-based tool, take into account local social wealth gross domestic product country. This last step performed on basis relationship loss percentage wealth. Such approach damage levels carried out sites near important cities located seismically active zone Spain, thus contributing easier decisions emergency preparedness planning, contemporary engineering seismic risk prevention.
