摘要: Ips pini from Idaho (ID) produce (−)-ipsdienol and respond to it in the laboratory.I. New York (NY) (+) a 65∶35 ratio much more strongly than (−) enantiomer. Response byI. pini-ID laboratory was inhibited by (+)-ipsdienol, while field response pini-NY optimal 50:50 mixture of (−)-ipsdienol. This differential production enantiomers ipsdienol is sufficient account for populational specificity observed earlier experiments confirmed our current work.
