摘要: Aluminium alloys have extensive application in industries. The range of physical properties that can be imparted to them is remarkable. Addition Silicon helps increase their strength and wear resistance. Al-Si are extensivelyused industrial applications due better tribological properties. In the present work,an attempt has been made study three as-cast alloy samples i.e Al-7wt%Si, Al-10wt%Si Al-14wt%Si. Wear tests were conducted using a pin-on-disc type testing machine(DUCOM friction monitor) after metallographic examination followed by hardness measurement. The operational parameters varied percentage content alloy, normal load, sliding velocity, sliding distance lubrication. was higher at increased velocity load. found increasing with decreasing content. SEM characterisation done. Interestingly, under lubricated condition higher. interaction platelets boundary might possible reason.
