Variational treatment of π°-condensed neutron matter in a realistic potential model

摘要: The results of a numerical study on the stability neutron matter against neutral pion condensation are reported. Within framework Jastrow-like variational approach, in which Reid soft core potential has been modified to simulate Δ-resonance effects, condensate phase turns out be energetically favoured at densities larger than normal nuclear density by factor 3÷4.
