摘要: Abstract This study is part of the “Air Polluion Impacts on Cardiopulmonary disease in Beijing: an integrated Exposure Science, Toxicologenomics & Environmental Epidemiology (APIC-ESTEE)” project under UK-China joint research programme “Atmospheric Pollution and Human Health a Chinese Megacity (APHH-China)”. The aim to capture spatio-temporal variability people's exposure fine particles (PM2.5) black carbon (BC) air pollution Beijing, China. A total 120 students were recruited for panel from ten universities Haidian District northwestern Beijing December 2017 June 2018. Real-time personal concentrations PM2.5 BC measured over 24-h period with two research-grade portable monitors. Personal microenvironments (MEs) determined by applying algorithm handheld GPS unit data. On average, participants spent most time indoors (79% Residence 16% Workplace), much less travelling Walking, Cycling, Bus Metro. Similar patterns observed across participant gender body-mass index classifications. exposed 33.8 ± 27.8 μg m−3 PM2.5 1.9 ± 1.2 μg m−3 BC monitoring period, average 24.3 μg m−3 (42%) 0.8 μg m−3 (28%) lower, respectively, than concurrent fixed-site ambient measurements. Relative differences between showed greater MEs, highlighting significant contributions Dining Bus, which involve potential combustion fuels. demonstrates value investigating related health effects, evaluating effectiveness control intervention measures.
