摘要: Neoclassically driven tearing modes (NTM) are a major problem for tokamaks operating in conventional ELMy H-mode scenario. Depending on the mode numbers these pressure perturbations cause mild to strong reduction plasma pressure, thus limiting maximum achievable normalized \(\beta_N = \beta_t /(\frac{I_p}{a B_t})\) , or can even lead disruptions at low edge safety factor, \(q_ {95}\). A control of such high \(\beta_N\) plasmas is therefore vital interest tokamaks. The consists two approaches, namely avoidance excitation and removal, least mitigation impact modes, if did not succeed. For both routes examples will be given applicability approaches ITER discussed.
