摘要: Catalytic desulfurization reactions are of extreme industrial importance due to the need for upgrading fossil fuel feedstocks with a high sulfur content. Sulfur must be removed from because SO x combustion products contribute acid rain and renders “catalytic converters” in automobile engines ineffective. Fundamental studies induced on single-crystal metal surfaces under ultrahigh vacuum conditions focus this chapter. There have been many excellent well-defined which we use here establish several general features class surface reactions. While attempted include all these studies, some fine work has most certainly overlooked apologize advance our oversight.
