摘要: Advanced Traveler Information Systems are becoming an integral part of urban transportation systems. This paper discusses issues related to how people access, acquire and use travel information. The perceived benefits willingness pay for dynamic information discussed. Empirical evidence from a major field operational test is examined answer questions about why, who uses suggests that helps travelers switch routes departure time. potential perhaps higher in cases unexpected incidents. However, only one-third the Target survey respondents changed their decisions response incident. While this significant number terms demand reduction due information, full not realized because quality available just such situations relatively low. New media can focus on variables sensitive travel-time uncertainty order improve high-uncertainty situations.
