Idiopathic congenital chylothorax presented with severe hydrops and treated with octreotide in term newborn.

摘要: Chylothorax is a relatively uncommon condition defined as an abnormal collection of lymphatic fluid within the pleural space. Morbidity congenital chylothorax (CC) high, and prognosis very poor if associated with hydrops fetalis. The optimal treatment CC has not been defined. Conservative (low-fat high-protein diets medium chain triglycerides, total parenteral nutrition, drainage) surgical intervention are performed. However, there little experience use octreotide therapy in this condition. We report newborn presented severe non-immune resistant to mainly conservative treatment. patient improved rapidly disappeared continuous administration (10 μg/kg/per hour).
