摘要: In the later part of Second World War, German troops were responsible for a front nearly thousand kilometers in Lapland, Northern Finland. The Germans built close to 100 prisoner war and labor camps area, imprisoned some 30,000 Russian soldiers there. Since Lapland’s infrastructure was very poor, prisoners used as workforce tasks such building improving roads bridges. prison military bases, well their archives, almost completely destroyed during retreat from Finland, 1944–1945, Lapland War between Finns Germans. this chapter we report on preliminary fieldwork at base Peltojoki, discuss how archaeology can contribute study understanding sites recent past.
