摘要: EFFECT OF DRYING PROCESSES ON CURCUMINOID CONTENT AND COMPOSITION TEMULAWAK ( Curcuma xanthorriza ROXB) RHIZOMES. Curcuminoid a yellow coloring agent of turmeric is known to have many benefits in food and medicinal industries. This compound can be isolated by simple extraction from fresh rhizome or symplicia. The research comparing qualitative quantitative curcuminoid different drying process has not yet been published. Drying methods used this were done an oven at 60°C under 30-watt electrical lamp ±30°C. Each method was carried out time variation 1, 3, 5 days. Extraction using ethanol 95% followed fat reduction petroleum ether. analysis TLC, UV-Visible spectrophotometer HPLC. result showed that the water content all samples approximately 4.06%-7.76%. TLC identified presence two dominant components with R f values 0.37 0.15. spectra indicated simplicia would give more than rhizome. There 4 substances detected HPLC analysis, they curcumin 61-67%, demetoxycurcumin 22-26%, bisdemetoxycurcumin 1-3%, derivative 10-11%. In addition, on resulted brighter crispier lamp. Bahan ini dapat diisolasi dari bahan segar atau simplisia kering melalui ekstraksi. Riset mencoba membandingkan kualitas kuantitas kurkuminoid akibat perlakuan panas pada saat pembuatan hingga sekarang belum pernah dilakukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kandungan air semua sampel sekitar 4,06%-7,76%. Analisis KLT mengidentifikasi adanya dua komponen dominan nilai 0,37 0,15. Spektrofotometri UV-tampak memberikan keenderungan lebih mudah terekstraksi daripada basah. Kromatogram mendeteksi senyawa yaitu kurkumin demetoksikurkumin bisdemetoksikurkumin turunan 10-11%, urutan prosentase masing-masing tetap sama selama proses pengeringan. juga perbedaan kondisi operasi sangat mempenaruhi penampakan dihasilkan, warna cerah lebih meremah lampu.
