Review article: Review of pulse-coupled neural networks

摘要: This paper reviews the research status of pulse-coupled neural networks (PCNN) in past decade. Considering there are too many publications about PCNN, we summarize main approaches and point out interesting parts PCNN researches rather than contemplate to go into details particular algorithms or describe results comparative experiments. First, current some modified models briefly introduced. Second, review applications field image processing (e.g. segmentation, enhancement, fusion, object edge detection, pattern recognition, etc.), then other fields also mentioned. Subsequently, existing problems summarized, while give suggestions for solutions puzzles. Finally, trend is pointed out.
