摘要: The design of water quality monitoring networks is still a controversial issue despite the variety methodologies proposed. Existing are marked with unsolved problems, and data collected often “messy” character. basic difficulty lies in lack precise definition for “information” expected from produced by network so that it fairly difficult to assess efficiency practices. same problem prevails evaluation cost- effectiveness where costs easy estimate, but benefits described indirectly terms other parameters. In essence, can only be measured means information conveyed data. Since no methodology up-to-date has provided quantitative measure information, benefits-of remain as unquantifiable parameters decision making process.
