摘要: Homoacetogenic bacteria (also called “acetogenic bacteria”) are strictly anaerobic eubacteria, which catalyze the synthesis of acetate from C1 units in their catabolism. The homoacetogens have proved to be a very heterogenous group microorganisms: they gram positive as well negative, spore- or non-spore forming, thermophilic and mesophilic, motile nonmotile, so on. Usually able grow on variety substrates, some quite unusual for microorganisms. Because most at expense H2 plus CO2 sole energy source, reduction 2 must coupled ATP. This chapter will deal mainly with utilization substrates conservation these substrates. For general overviews homoacetogenic bacteria, reader is referred Chapters 1 7, other recent reviews (Diekert, 1992; Schink Bomar, Drake, 1992).
