Theoretical evaluation of risk for nutritional deficiency with caloric restriction in dogs

摘要: Background: Risk of nutrient deficiency in dogs during caloric restriction is not currently known, while obesity a growing concern. Objectives: To determine nutrients that might require further evaluation for the risk restriction. Animals and methods: Five commercially available canine diets, representing range density (2900–4240 kcal/kg metabolizable energy), were assessed potential inadequacy if fed to hypothetical overweight dog. Caloric typical analysis protein, amino acids, fat, fatty minerals, vitamins obtained from manufacturer.
