摘要: Abstract The petroleum refining industry is an important energy conversion sector, providing both products and raw materials to a wide range of end-use sectors, including the transportation chemical industries. This study uses typical refinery process flow develop complex system by characterizing technical features interrelationships units. Using this we were able MESSAGEix-petroleum model analyze consumption emissions at level. results indicate that China’s could reduce total use, circulation water consumption, softened 12%, 7%, 80%, respectively. Additionally, CO2, NOx, SO2, PM2.5 10%, 4%, 2%, 1%, respectively, 2050. However, emission sources have significant influence on reduction effect, potential obtained through efficiency strategies limited, especially for air pollutants. Therefore, policymakers should consider combining energy-efficiency measures specific pollution control options better reach multiple targets. Finally, further directions enhancing representation relevant subsectors in MESSAGEix are given.
